01 Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run Confluo and give you a working memory across your projects.

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic authentication details. If you sign in through a third-party provider, we receive the identifying information that provider shares with us, such as your email and display name.

Content you save

This is the heart of Confluo. When you save a conversation, note, file, or memory block, we store that content along with any facts, decisions, code, or metadata extracted from it. This includes project names, tags, timestamps, and the source AI a memory came from.

Usage information

We collect limited technical data such as your browser type, device information, and basic activity logs (for example, when a memory was created or a project was opened). This helps us keep the service reliable and diagnose problems.

Plain-language summary

We collect your login details, the content you choose to save, and basic usage logs. We do not collect the content of conversations you never save to Confluo.

02 How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Confluo service.
  • Extract structured knowledge — decisions, bugs, code, and facts — from the conversations you save.
  • Build your project timeline, knowledge graph, and Switch Context briefs.
  • Authenticate you and secure your account.
  • Respond to your support requests and communicate service updates.
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, or security incidents.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content you save to train our own models.

03 Conversation capture

Confluo offers a few ways to bring content into your memory, and each only acts when you tell it to:

  • Manual paste. You paste a conversation directly into Confluo. Nothing is captured until you do.
  • Browser extension. When you click "Save to Confluo" on a supported AI site, the extension reads the visible conversation on that page and sends it to your Confluo account. The extension only activates on your click — it does not run in the background collecting your browsing.
  • MCP connector. When you add the Confluo connector to a compatible AI client, that client can read your project context and save memories on your behalf during a session, using a private token you generate.
Your control

Capture is always opt-in and action-triggered. You decide what enters your memory, and you can delete anything you've saved at any time.

04 Third-party AI providers

To turn raw conversations into structured memory, Confluo uses third-party AI services to run extraction. Content you save may be sent to these providers solely to perform that processing and return the extracted result. We use a multi-provider fallback system so extraction stays reliable.

These providers process your content under their own terms and privacy policies, and they act as our processors for this purpose. We select providers that commit to not using submitted content to train their models where such controls are available. If all providers are unavailable, Confluo falls back to a local rule-based extractor that does not send your content anywhere.

05 How we share information

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. With vendors who host our infrastructure, run authentication, or perform AI extraction on our behalf, bound by contractual obligations to protect your data.
  • Team members you invite. If you add collaborators to a project, they can see the memories, files, and chat within that project.
  • Legal reasons. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Confluo, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If Confluo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, with notice to you.

We never sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

06 Storage & security

Your data is stored using reputable cloud infrastructure providers. Access to your account is protected by authentication, and extension and connector access is secured by a private token that you generate and can revoke at any time from your settings.

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

07 Data retention

We keep your account information and saved content for as long as your account is active. When you delete a memory, project, or your entire account, we remove the associated content from our active systems. Residual copies may persist briefly in backups before they are overwritten in the normal course of operations.

08 Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Within Confluo you can:

  • View and edit the memories and projects you've saved.
  • Delete individual memories, whole projects, or your entire account.
  • Revoke extension and connector tokens at any time.
  • Contact us to exercise any additional rights available to you.

To make a request, reach us at the contact below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable law.

09 Cookies & tracking

Confluo uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences, such as your light or dark theme. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may affect how Confluo works.

10 Children's privacy

Confluo is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the service. Your continued use of Confluo after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
